Making San Francisco a Destination
Amtrak wanted to promote travel to San Francisco, but its service to the city is indirect, requiring a bus connection from the East Bay. This presented a unique marketing challenge, as it can be difficult to sell a multi-step journey to travelers.
My Solution
I helped forge a new partnership between Amtrak and Radisson Hotels, creating a special offer for passengers to stay at the Radisson Fisherman’s Wharf. My task was to design all the promotional materials, ensuring a seamless visual blend of both brand identities.
I designed a rack card that was distributed in high-traffic areas, such as train stations and visitor centers. The campaign also featured a variety of ads in publications and online. The final campaign effectively turned a logistical challenge into an appealing travel package, successfully driving ridership and hotel stays.
