The Golden Gate Railroad Museum, which has been operating in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1975, plays a crucial role in preserving historic railroad equipment from railways that have served the region for decades.
Challenges
Although the museum has not yet established a permanent physical location for visitors, it does offer seasonal holiday weekend excursions featuring a restored steam locomotive, as well as numerous volunteer opportunities. Without a physical location for visitors to regularly visit, the opportunities to reach individuals become more challenging.
solution
When the museum celebrated a significant anniversary, we decided to make it a memorable year by launching multiple marketing and outreach campaigns. One of the materials I designed was a multi-page, full-color guidebook. This guide included information on the different classes of service available for excursions, upcoming enhancements to the museum, and ways for individuals to become members or volunteers.
The Museum Guidebook was a Graphic Design USA In-House Design award-winning piece.
